A large number of patients do not respond to corticosteroid therapy and require alternative treatment options. Extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) is an empirically developed cell therapy that has proven effective in the treatment of both acute and chronic GVHD. Because ECP is safe to use and has few serious side effects, its application in the management of GVHD is very attractive. The purpose of this paper is to present a literature review on the use of ECP for the treatment of GVHD.</p>
</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>extracorporeal photopheresis</kwd><kwd>graft-versus-host disease</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>экстракорпоральный фотоферез</kwd><kwd>реакция «трансплантат против хозяина»</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group/></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="en">Greinix HT, Eikema DJ, Koster L et al.
